Colorado

Brett and I really enjoyed the college football season this year. We made it to a couple of cougar games and I even convinced Brett to come to a Husky game!! The first game we went to was in Boulder Colorado. Brett and I decided to make the trip into a extended vacation and we traveled up to Estes Park after the Colorado/WSU football game. We also were able to visit with Jessica and Matt when we were in Denver. Brett's friends Jeff and Leon had a fun weekend planned out for everyone. On Friday we went on a nice hike up the Flatirons and went to Ralphie practice before heading into town and watching the Colorado Band play up and down Pearl Street. Saturday was spent at a wonderful tailgate followed by the game. The Cougs won, but it was a close game. Brett and I spent the next couple of days up at Estes Park. We stayed at a cute little cabin on a river near the Rocky Mountain National Park. We began hiking up a wonderful trail at the national park before thunder and lightning started and we had to turn around. On our last day in Colorado we went to the Stanley Hotel(from Stephen King's thriller, "The Shinning") and experienced the Ghosts and History tour. We had a wonderful time! Here are some pictures we wanted to share from our trip...

One Year Anniversary Trip

For our one year anniversary, Brett surprised me with a trip to San Juan Island. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast called the Bird Rock in Friday Harbor. We went to a moped rental shop and they had something called a scootcoupe, which we rented and took for a spin around the Island. Brett also made reservations at a restaurant called Duck Soup. Dinner was wonderful! The Custis Family was also vacationing on the Island at the same time, so we were able to spend some time with them. Dan's Dad is also a pilot and took us for a little flight around the San Juan's in his plane. What a great way to see all the Islands. We had a wonderful time! What a great way to spend our first anniversary!

Lake Roosevelt Houseboat Trip

This year my birthday happened to fall in the week of the Houseboat trip! Brett planned out a full day of events starting with leis and tiaras for everyone to wear. He also spent some time decorating the cabin and made a wonderful ice cream dessert! I found out later that he had sent out an e-mail to all the women in the family and they all pitched in and helped make my birthday very memorable. What a sweet guy! I am one lucky lady.

Happy Birthday Tiaras!

The mud pie dessert...yum yum!

The higher than normal water level this year made it hard to find beaches around the lake, but it didn't stop us from enjoying our time on the water. You really can't go wrong with a relaxation station, sun, and a beverage in hand.
